Web hosting is the outsourced provisioning of solutions that enable businesses to build and maintain a successful online presence. Companies may use this service to host a simple web site – either with a shared server arrangement or virtual private server plan, or through its own server – available on a managed or unmanaged platform. Verio also considers hosting to include the hosting of applications –either applications Verio hosts for customers to provision and use as needed (Saas), or for companies that desire a platform in which to host their own built applications (called frequently Platform as a Service). Verio backs all of its solutions with 24X7 monitoring and technical support, uptime guarantees, SAS 70 Type II certified data centers, and more.
